Water in Oak Park
Triunfo Water & Sanitation District, which took over Oak Park Water Service in 2019, supplies 2.6 million gallons a day to more than 14,000 people, all of it bought from Northern California through the State Water Project. Its 2025 report gives hardness only for that purchased water: 140 milligrams per liter at Metropolitan’s Jensen plant, hard on the U.S. Geological Survey’s scale.

Homes and floors in Oak Park
Oak Park was ranch land owned by Jim and Marian Jordan, the radio stars of Fibber McGee and Molly, until Metropolitan Development Corporation bought it in the 1960s; homes went up from the late 1960s, and all the land available for building has since been developed. The 2020 Census counted 5,324 housing units and 13,898 residents.
About 28 percent of Oak Park’s occupied homes are rented, as the Census Bureau’s 2020–2024 owner share of 71.9 percent implies, so the deposit rules matter to many households here. California lets a landlord deduct for cleaning only to bring a home back to its move-in level, never for ordinary wear and tear: move-out carpet cleaning and the deposit.
The Woolsey Fire burned through Oak Park on November 8 and 9, 2018, and the unified command’s update on the evening of November 11 listed the entire community under mandatory evacuation. ABC7 reported two homes burned on a cul-de-sac in the 5500 block of Wembly Avenue and two severely damaged on Churchwood Drive near Kanan Road. Ash that blows into homes that don’t burn is cleaned with a HEPA vacuum, never a leaf blower: ash and smoke indoors.
